If the walls were as thin as cardboard…

 
If the walls were as thin as cardboard, our friends would be our enemies.
Through those thin walls you could hear all of their secrets, and they could hear yours.
If the walls were as thin as cardboard, the air would seep through the smallest tear leaving you cold at night, shivering in your own sadness.
The world mocks you for your mistakes as you try to patch things up.
If the walls were as thin as cardboard, you’d be living at my place.
There’s always room for you here, but do you have room for me? Or is your heart as empty as the jar of hope that I have left for humanity?
