Expecting God to Move

Hey Fans,

So here in St. Louis we did an exercise. Each participant, leaders included, wrote down their expectation/vision/goal, whatever you call it, for this week. At the end of the week, we are going to marvel at how God worked and reflect on what we wrote down. For example, I, Kelsey, desire to see the team, myself included, learn how we can further worship God. Worship is so much more than the songs we sing before debrief. Worship is how we love each other, how we serve St. Louis, how we live our lives out for the glory of God. I want to see us worship God in the way we love those it is hardest for us to love. I crave for everyone to take joy from serving here in St. Louis because we are doing it to worship our phenomenal creator. That has been and is my prayer for the week so please pray alongside me :)

I polled the girls in my group. Some of their ‘visions’ for the week are:
Anna W- Step out our comfort zones, knowing everything is in God’s hands. When we come back, to feel like we made a difference in the city or at least in a few people’s lives.
Mackenzie F- Witness a change of perspective in someone we meet, meaning see someone change the way they think and feel about God in a positive way.
Marissa B- Have more of a servant’s heart and be able to do the assigned tasks happily.

I cannot wait to experience the incredible things God has yet to do in this team; Things we would never even think of. Please please please be in prayer for the city of St. Louis! Our team has several things we learned you can pray for. Some of them include:
-God would break the hold drugs, alcohol and addictions have on many of the homeless people
-Strength for the Christians here to speak boldly and long to share the hope they have in Christ with the lost
-More jobs so people can get back on their feet

More prayer requests to come for this city and we appreciate your prayers so much! I can feel God at work through our team without a doubt and I know we have so many people praying for us. I really cannot thank you enough. One last prayer request for our team: Team unity and vulnerability as we share testimonies, serve and worship together. Thank You!!! I feel like Paul in Philippians 1:3-8 I appreciate the support so much.

Enough of this thanking business. Off to sleep after a very satisfying win from the Hawks. #sportsministry
Keep your comments and feedback coming! The team loves the encouragement!

Until next time ~ Kelsey L
